The documentary accompanies Johanna Klug as she navigates the tension between this work, with which she is now also present in various media, and her everyday life as a cheerful young adult in Berlin between her doctoral thesis and partying with friends.
Johanna Klug is in the middle of her doctoral thesis on “Patient autonomy in terminally ill children” and has just published her second non-fiction book. She started accompanying dying people at the age of 20: “Since then, I’ve been fascinated by the topics of dying, death and grief. It was the need for direct, sincere and genuine encounters with people,” says Johanna. She finds this intensity of encounter not only in the hospice, where she accompanies an old lady and a young woman with a heart condition, among others, or on her outings with a girl who is mourning her deceased sister, but also when dancing and celebrating with her friends. https://www.3sat.de/film/ab-18/ab-18—eben-noch-leben-100.html
